Metadata, Terminology & Interoperability
Standards
We help connect collection data to external sources such as Wikidata, AAT and the Term Network. Objects become easier to find, better connected and more searchable across collections.
Collections do not stand alone. People, places, object types, materials and concepts are part of broader networks of knowledge and meaning. Yet this coherence often remains fragmented in many collections. We help museums, archives and heritage organisations connect collection data to external sources such as Wikidata, AAT and the Term Network. The Term Network makes it possible to integrate terms from shared thesauri and other term lists into the collection management system.
A collection in relation to broader knowledge networks
By linking collection data to external sources, a richer context emerges around objects, images and descriptions. Names of people, places, materials, techniques and subjects are connected to existing knowledge sources and controlled terminology.
Enrichment with external references
We create links to sources such as Wikidata, AAT and the Term Network. Collection records then connect to shared term lists and thesauri, making descriptions more consistent and relationships more visible.
The Term Network as a connecting layer
With the Term Network, terms from shared thesauri and other term lists can be integrated into the collection management system. This helps make objects easier to find, better connected and searchable in context.
Control and quality
AI does the preparatory work. Results remain reviewable and are configured around your sources, fields, terminology and quality criteria. Where relevant, the source or passage remains traceable. Your organisation decides what is adjusted, approved and ultimately used.
A concrete first step
We prefer to start with a clearly defined test set. Together we agree the required output, quality criteria and review flow. This shows what works before you scale up.
